Heat the oil over medium heat in a large, covered cooking pot. Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown. Add the chopped tomatoes and fry continuously for another 7-8 minutes. Add salt and spices, mushrooms and water Stir well together. Place the lid on the pot, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes or so.

The mushrooms are tender. Remove the lid and simmer for another 5-7 minutes or until water comes through Evaporates.
